Hidden Gems in Tallahassee: The LeMoyne Center

Tallahassee is a contemporary city with lots to do. If you live in the city, there are a few hidden gems you should know about. Learn more about the LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts, one of the hidden gems that belongs in your to-see list.

What is the LeMoyne Center?

The LeMoyne Center was established in 1963. It's located in the Meginniss-Munroe House, which was originally built in 1854. Since then, it has been restored to its full glory.

The house is on a tree-lined street in downtown Tallahassee. There is another nearby building used for educational purposes. Between the buildings, you can find a beautiful garden with sculptures and fountains that date back to the origins of the property. If you're interested in a nice stroll, you can walk the gardens.

Inside the house, there are five gallery rooms. However, it's impossible to say which artists you will see. The exhibits rotate throughout the year, allowing you to appreciate new artists on a regular basis.

In the basement of the main building, you can find a ceramics lab. You can sign up for a ceramics class and use the lab for yourself. You might learn how to shape a clay pot, or watch a master at work.

If you're looking for a fun way to spend a few hours, head to the LeMoyne Center. It's one of the many places that makes Tallahassee great. Book your stay today and experience 7 Hills Suites.
